Safe Home is a 33-unit supportive housing program designed to provide individuals experiencing long-term homelessness and alcohol dependence with permanent housing opportunities, intensive case management, and access to additional supportive services. Safe Home is an evidence-based ‘Housing First’ concept that provides housing to the most chronically homeless residents of the community, the overall costs of community, emergency services are reduced dramatically.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Monitor front desk operations, visitor access, and facility security.
  • Screen residents, guests, and property for prohibited items.
  • Respond to emergencies and contact appropriate assistance when needed.
  • Monitor security cameras and surveillance systems.
  • Assist residents, guests, and outside service providers.
  • Support meal service operations and maintain dining area cleanliness and supplies.
  • Enforce facility rules and support resident accountability and program goals.
  • Perform routine cleaning in residential and common areas.
  • Create, activate, and manage resident and staff ID badges.
  • Supervise resident work assignments and building maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair requests and respond to urgent facility issues.

What You Need to Succeed in this Role

A high school diploma or GED plus one year general office or security work. Must be age 21 or older at the time of hiring. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience working in an environment that requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must successfully complete pre-employment background process.

Strong problem-solving skills to quickly and efficiently resolve issues while diffusing challenging situations and conflicts. Strong multi-tasking abilities. Knowledge of and skill in using technology and related software systems. Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, other agencies, and the public. Demonstrate team participation and a workplace philosophy that enriches staff’s ability to reach goals and provide a high level of customer service. Present a professional appearance and communicate with others in a respectful and approachable way.
